Taylor (7) and Riley (6) have been skiing since they were 3 years old. Both kids attend Pershing Elementary and want to be insurance agents one day! Taylor started barefoot skiing this year.

Our first show took place yesterday on Lake Jennie Jewel. The crowd filled the porch and lawn at Julie’s Waterfront Cafe, and the sun was shining hotter ‘n hell! We had a great turn-out, thanks in part to all the former Sea World skiers who were here in town for the reunion weekend. Plus lots of locals came out to support the show…and they weren’t disappointed! We tossed back some beers, scarfed down some fried delicacies, and basically kept the waitresses so busy they barely knew what to do with themselves. Curtis, our emcee, was hilarious and charming and wonderful and all the things you would hope for. The skiers were on fire! Special kudos to Taylor Dehlinger, who put on such a show. That kid was born to be a star. Not to take anything away from the rest of the skiers, though, because everyone was awesome.
One question. Who was the dude in the gorilla suit?
Here’s a slideshow, in case you missed us on Sunday. These photos, taken by Todd Ristorcelli of Waterski magazine, should get you excited for the BIG show taking place on Sunday, October 21st at 3 p.m. hope to see you there!
Instead of doing just one show, we are having TWO fabulous ski shows this month. The first one will take place this Sunday, October 7th at 1 p.m. Meet us at Julie’s Waterfront Cafe!
Why two shows instead of one? The Sea World Show Ski Reunion takes place this weekend, and this is a perfect opportunity to gather with good friends to relive old times and make new memories.
The Julie’s Waterfront Ski Show have asked that everyone who comes out to see the show bring a few nonperishable food items that will be donated to a local food bank, Community Food Outreach. We’re here to have fun but we also want to remember those who are in need. Canned foods of all kinds are ideal, and there will be bins placed near the entry of Julie’s Waterfront Cafe where you can leave your donations.
